An Anarkali salwar suit can be described as a combination of long kurtha which has much more defined waistline and bust as compared to a traditional salwar kameez suit, and bottoms that are usually in the form of a chudidar. The kurtha is fitted on the bust and normally features large pleats flowing around the legs like umbrella.
Anarkali dresses were famous in Mughal emperor's time. Anarkalis are again famous in these days also.
The styling of the dress has evolved over time, with trends ranging from floor length to normal length one that end below the knee. Some newer anarkali salwar suits are short to suit the modern generation.
